- Introduction of information technology in all relevant segments of society: in the educational systems, the health institutions, the legal institutions and the e-trade.
The basic interest of Makedonski Telekomunikacii, as a leading telecommunication company, is an effective application of the information technology in the education through e-Macedonia. The technology increasingly enters our way of operation and life, while the technological literacy becomes an indispensable skill for success in the modern world. We believe that education has the power to change the life, to reinforce the communities, to strengthen the economy and to deepen our mutual understanding and understanding of the world.
We invest in the education, because we have a need for a highly professional and talented work force that will be competitive in the market and we believe that the educated citizens provide better quality of life for everyone.
MT through “e-Macedonia” supports the education through its own business, philanthropy and with the help of its people. The bigger part of the financial contributions of e-Macedonia, beginning with the time of the employees and the service activities of the community, are directed towards the development of education. MT through e-Macedonia Foundation supports the realization of the following goals in education:
Introduction of Internet in the schools One of the goals of MT through “e-Macedonia” is the creation of a programme for on-line learning through the Internet network. We support and increase the usage of the technology in the process of creation and implementation of the educational programmes, promote the cooperation between the educational institutions in the process of Internet resources exchange.
Support the opening of computer labs and educative centres for young generations
Improvement of the quality of transferring and acquiring of the knowledge
The quality of transferring the knowledge is one of the most important elements which affect the learning of the student. We support the professional development of the lecturers, especially the effective application of the technology at all levels of education. Mathematics and science are of special interest to us, since these disciplines are the heart and soul of our business and the basis of the education and skills necessary for the work force in the information technology (IT). We support the e-projects which include the expertise of the authorized lecturers and the role of the technology in the lecture-room, and the role of the main lecturers who serve as a model for the lecturers in training and those who are already acting in practice.
Awarding scholarships to the best pupils and students
Awarding inventions in the area of the information technology and the information software
Support to the organization of scholarly and professional meetings, seminars, and other forms of education
Development of a global programme for a virtual faculty
In order to follow the modern trends in the education in the world, MT through “e-Macedonia” is planning in the future to support a project for development of a Global Programme for a virtual faculty, which applies the technological achievements in order to bring the experts from around the world into the lecture-rooms of our universities.
- Raising the awareness of the role of Internet and information technology in the increase of productivity and efficiency of the operation
Developing and redefining work force skills
We put effort in development of the talent and the intellectual property, which are necessary in order to maintain the competitiveness of the work force, especially in the IT industry. We encourage the development of the technological literacy, as a basic skill necessary for everyone, and support the introduction of new curricula and educational experiences that will better prepare the students for job positions in the IT area. We invest in the research for providing information and improving the operation of the enterprises supported by the technology. MT through “e-Macedonia” supports the projects for development of the Educational Alliance, an association of domestic and regional universities, for cooperation in the initiative for development of the work force in the network management.
MT through “e-Macedonia” supports the research for career possibilities and skills necessary for high school students and employees who do not attend faculty, the projects aimed at curriculum that combines the school study with working experience, in order to prepare the high school students to become the future digital work force, as well as the establishment of a new interdisciplinary certificate for a degree of post-graduate studies in the Information School.
- Supporting projects for the development of micro and small enterprises in order to increase the development of the e-business, e-trade and to create new types of products, and new markets
- Engagement of the local communities in the e-society
We have a firm obligation to respond to the needs of the local communities for their active participation in the e-society. We believe that our employees are familiar in detail both with the needs of the communities in which they live and work and with the organizations which best meet their needs. Therefore MT through “e-Macedonia” has extended the responsibility to identify projects that can contribute to the leading teams of the company in the local offices.
- Supporting the initiative
MT through “e-Macedonia” supports different initiatives and programmes for civil and social services thorough the Internet networks. We would like our donations to serve as mediators that help the organizations to fulfil their goals and expand their services in society. Special attention is given to the projects that present a model for other organizations, and therefore, have the potential to provide higher benefits for larger segment of society.
- Supporting voluntarism and civil engagement
We appreciate, acknowledge and support the efforts of all volunteers, by providing financial support for organizations whose goal is to engage Macedonian citizens in the e-society. MT through “e-Macedonia” supports all e-campaigns for mobilization of the business community for supporting the effective services and the civil engagement of each and every Macedonian citizen.
- Improvement of the living environment
We believe that the topics concerning the living environment, health and safety are central business topics, important for the well-being of our employees and the smooth functioning of society. The overall contribution of MT through “e-Macedonia” for the living environment, is also reflected in many of the supported projects through direct sponsorship and activities managed by the employees.
Philanthropy, for e-Macedonia, is not just a financial support. Our people are the biggest value that we possess. MT through “e-Macedonia” provides various resources and on-line means that will motivate the citizens to improve the environment and supports e-campaigns for protection of the health, the protection from disasters and development of inter-neighbours' relations.
- Promotion of the Republic of Macedonia into a networking economy model, by emphasizing the comparable advantages (higher degree of education of the population, highly-developed basic telecommunication infrastructure with a wide spectre of services, Internet popularity among the younger population, basic computer knowledge for use of computers in small and medium enterprises)
Selection of suitable project for support will be made in a transparent manner by issuing an open tender where all interested parties may apply and offer their services. The Foundation members will decide on the projects to be supported. The main objective and tasks of the Foundation are to promote and provide financial support for the “e-Macedonia” project. Moreover MT can provide support by certain training, seminar, telecommunications service, etc in order to promote the above stated goals.
The establishment of the Foundation will generate further opportunities of promotion and financial support for the fulfilment of the programme goals of the “e-Macedonia” project and will produce conditions for the transfer of programmes and technology from other countries in the world.
The Foundation will act on the entire territory of the Republic of Macedonia and will also co-operate with both state and non-governmental bodies and organizations that will be willing to support the Foundation and the “e?Macedonia” project.
The Foundation will have the capacity of a legal entity and will be registered in the Register of Associations.
